AI Lessons is committed to protecting your personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Cookies we use

• Essential cookies — required for the site to function, remember your accessibility settings and your cookie choice. These are always active.
• Optional cookies — analytics and preference cookies that help us improve lessons. These are only set if you select "Accept All Cookies".

Information we collect

• Account creation — your email address, authentication identifiers and (where you sign in with a social provider) your basic profile details, so we can create and secure your AI Lessons account and remember your lesson progress and accessibility settings.
• Payment processing (Stripe) — subscriptions are processed by Stripe Payments UK, Ltd. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe processes them as an independent controller. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan tier and billing status so we can grant access to paid content.
• Affiliate referral tracking (Rewardful) — if you arrive through an affiliate link, Rewardful sets a referral identifier so a commission can be attributed to the referring affiliate. This records the referral ID, the click and any resulting subscription — never your lesson activity.
• Enquiry and newsletter forms — your name, email address, the lesson or category you selected and your message, so we can respond (including via WhatsApp) and send the updates you requested.

Lawful bases for processing

• Contract — creating your account, providing lessons and managing your subscription.
• Legal obligation — retaining transaction and tax records.
• Consent — optional cookies, marketing emails and newsletter sign-ups (withdrawable at any time).
• Legitimate interests — securing the platform, preventing fraud and attributing affiliate referrals fairly.

We never sell your data

AI Lessons does not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. Data is only shared with the processors needed to run the service — our hosting and database provider, Stripe for payments, and Rewardful for affiliate attribution — each under a data processing agreement.

Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 12 months afterwards. Billing records are retained for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting obligations. Enquiry and newsletter data is deleted on request or when you unsubscribe.

International transfers

Some of our processors operate outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred abroad it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can withdraw consent for optional cookies by clearing your browser storage for this site. We respond to all requests within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
